Oakland Animal Hospital

We're one big, happy family!

Welcome to Oakland Animal Hospital!

Oakland Animal Hospital has been an active veterinary hospital since 1963. Founding member, Dr. Henry Peinecke sold that practice to Dr. Robert Gordon in 1979 and the practice has offered modern and compassionate veterinary care to the animals of Northwest Bergen County and nearby Passaic and Morris Counties since. On November 9, 2022, Dr. Amy Pellicano acquired the practice and became medical director.

Oakland Animal Hospital’s priority is to make your veterinary care a family affair. We believe that you should see welcoming faces at the door and that your pet should receive the same love, compassion, and care that you give them at home. The human-animal bond is a special gift that we treasure, and your pets’ health is as important to you as it is for us. We will work tirelessly to do all in our power to protect and defend the health of your pets.

We carefully select our staff based on their training as well as their people and animal skills. Our team is made up of people who love their pets, just like you. Several of our staff have been with Oakland Animal Hospital for many years and we applaud their effort in greatness. By carefully selecting our staff, we can ensure that your beloved pet will always receive the best care.

Oakland Animal Hospital is a member of the American Animal Hospital Association (AAHA). As a member of AAHA (www.healthypet.com), we participate in Standards of Accreditation reviews to ensure that we continually apply the best practices to the care of your pet. In 2020, we earned our 38th consecutive accreditation. This accreditation program developed by the AAHA raises the level of care being provided to animals, ensures that all practices are up to date on changes in veterinary medicine, creates challenging benchmarks, improves practice operations, provides skill checks, and encourages leadership development. By achieving the accreditation for 38 consecutive years, we are proud to be among the best in the community.
